This policy explains, in plain English, what information Truffle - Dining Budget ("Truffle," "we," "us") collects through the Truffle iOS app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
How we access your transactions
Truffle reads your bank and credit card transactions only after you choose to connect an account through Plaid, a third-party service. You enter your bank login only inside Plaid's secure screens — never in Truffle. We never see or store your bank username or password. Plaid's handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
What we collect
- Transaction data: date, amount, merchant name and category for transactions in accounts you connect.
- Account information: your email address and your in-app settings (such as your daily budget).
How we use it
We use this information only to show you your own eating-out spending — your daily report, widget, piggy bank and related features — and to operate and support the app.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it for credit decisions.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Disconnecting and deleting your data
You can disconnect any account at any time in the app. When you disconnect an account or close your Truffle account, we remove the Plaid connection and delete the associated data. Any copies in our backups expire within 30 days.
Children
Truffle is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email and update the effective date above.
